When I was a kid, I used to go through these books my mum would get of the fashion collections each season, and I would read it enough to be able to recognize what each different designer was doing each time, and play a little game with myself where I had to be able to identify with them. Valentino was always one of the brands that stood out. But it was the simple act of being able to perform once againover live stream, yes, but to an audience around the worldthat was the ultimate highlight for Cosima. I love collaborating with people, and Valentino has always been very open to the idea of bringing my art to them, says Cosima. It’s been a very special experience.
For the occasion, Cosima settled on a look from the more pared-back end of the Valentino spectrum, wearing a sharp tailored tuxedo jacket and trousers to echo the collection’s sense of concision and reserve. In terms of how I like to dress myself, I like extremeseither hyper, hyper-feminine, or to lean into something a bit tougher and more masculine.
