Maybe once a year. Here’s why. The sweater is almost outerwear layer of clothing. It’s not really in contact with my body or holding my sweat and bodily bacteria. What is important is how I wash my sweater and then place it laid out flat on my bed for even but slow drying out. I even lay a towel on top of it with a few books on it. Doing it this way reduces shrinkage of the sweater.
